About the Program
Today, GeoAI is producing unprecedented results and elevating geographic information science to new heights in the explosive era of AI and Big Data. It is the fusion of GIS and AI and enables novel approaches for addressing geospatial challenges in the real world.
The Geo-Artificial Intelligence (GeoAI) and Big Data Certificate is the first tailor-made certification program for GIS and data analyst professionals in the MENA region, which has been jointly designed by the University of Balamand (UOB) and Esri Lebanon (EL). The program aims to work towards creating a capable GIS professional in the field of geospatial big data and artificial intelligence and to develop transferable skills in GeoAI to address issues impacting our environment and societies.
The program, being offered exclusively by the University of Balamand, is made up of 4 modules that are designed to meet the high demand for these skills across many industries: tackling various topics in Big Data, Machine Learning, Spatial Analytics, and Design Thinking. Given across three months, students will need to complete the four modules to receive their certification, with each module equivalent to three credits.
